Do you ever have so much to say that you don’t even know where to start? That’s how I feel about my time in Arizona. Six years ago I moved to Tempe as a freshman in college, excited, scared, and against my own will (lol). Yes, my parents made me leave for college and THANK GOD THEY DID. I came to Arizona that hot summer day, SO scared to be leaving Fresno and my family behind. From the second I arrived on ASU’s campus I had already made up my mind that I would transfer in the Spring and immediately start applying elsewhere.
Well the joke is on me because, here I am a degree, 2 jobs, and six years later, sadly saying goodbye to a place that has been my home for the last six years. Anyone who knows me is probably shocked that I lasted here so long and to be honest, so am I. Never in a million years did I think that I would have not only graduated from ASU but willingly chose to stay here two years out of college.
I’m so thankful that my parents forced me to move here and branch out from a place that was so familiar to me. I have met some of my best friends, made incredible memories, traveled the world, worked for two major companies (Target and Groupon), laughed a lot, cried a lot harder, and I can finally say with confidence and a sense of pride that my work here is done.
Arizona, THANK YOU! Thank you for introducing me to experiences and opportunities I would have never imagined. Thank you for the struggles that have shaped me into the strong young woman that I am, thank you for helping me build my career, and most importantly thank you for helping me reach my full potential and making me the BOSS ASS BITCH that I am.
It’s been a real 6 years & I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Lion Raisins, here I come.
In honor of the move here are some extremely embarrassing pics to commemorate my time:
